Patent Progress contributor David Balto has an interesting op-ed in CQ Roll Call this week on foreign countries establishing what he refers to as “state-sponsored patent assertion entities.” He’s concerned with the possibility of anticompetitive domestic protectionism, and concludes that, on top of the mutually assured destruction that Patent Progress has pointed out, “[t]he last thing we need is to be involved in an actual patent cold war.” It’s definitely worth a read.
