So, I know we keep saying there will be news soon, but not that much has happened on patents in Congress’s first week back. But there has been some advocacy on the Hill. Yesterday, Intellectual Ventures held an event, and our own Matt Levy got to ask Nathan Myhrvold a question, which he wrote up in this post. Earlier in the week, Matt had another post on IV’s opposition to transparency because it would expose their patent trolling. He also highlighted an op-ed in ArsTechnica by James Bessen on how patent trolls have doomed themselves by going after small businesses, whose support of patent reform, as we’ve addressed here, has been a large catalyst for legislative action.
